Since my middle school days I have shared music as a love language. It began with illegally downloaded music (shout out youtube to mp3), burned onto CD's from my dad's computer, finished with hand-drawn covers, delivered the next day at school.
While some of the luster has died from those days, I still find immense joy in making playlists for people. The process usually starts by trying to understand their music taste, putting myself in their shoes, and creating a playlist that blends our tastes together and moves in flow. There is something so beautiful about taking time to reflect on someone(s) and sum it up through the language of a commonality that fosters connectedness.
My most recent playlist was created for a magical group of women with whom I gather, read, learn and grow. This playlist started to come together on the drive home from our first meeting, and was actualized as soon as I got home. It is inspired by their boundless wisdom, creativity, and expansiveness. Each track is filled with the voices of women who evoke the same energy upon listening. It is titled after our group, created by Melissa Ruebl (Venus Theta Design Co.)
Take an hour and listen through it (intended to be played in order). Reflect on what you wish for, take a breath, release what isn't aligned, or feel free to just take it all in. Thanks for being here.
